On February 6, 2023, a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake devastated southeast Turkey and northwest Syria. This was followed less than 10 hours later by a 7.5-magnitude aftershock.
Thousands of people were injured, and tens of thousands of people were left homeless in the middle of winter. The pain experienced by the earthquake left us all grieving.
The death toll has passed 41,000 and continues to rise.
